Mind Games: How Mental Exercises Can Improve Memory

According to Dr. Tara Swart Bieber, a neuroscientist at MIT Sloan, memory strength varies from person to person, but regularly exercising one’s memory can help enhance it.

To enhance one’s memory, one needs to have both strong short-term and long-term memory, which can be practiced. Swart suggests two simple exercises, chunking and spaced repetition, along with other practices such as exercising regularly, eating a healthy diet, and making intentional changes to clear one’s headspace.

These practices can help boost memory and set those with “excellent memory” apart from those who struggle.
